Situated on the border of Fancy Bazaar and Pan Bazaar on the bank of the Brahmaputra, this is a first contact center where the kids who come in touch with the Snehalaya program are received. It was opened on March 23, 2002.

This is a short-stay home, a drop-in center. As of now, it is also a home for the senior boys who are engaged in various skill-trainings like candle-making,  two-wheeler mechanics, driving, tailoring, photo-framing etc.  Non-formal education, counseling, health-care and recreation are provided here besides basic facilities like food and clothes, shelter with toilet facilities. On an average about 25 to 30 kids are sheltered here. Smaller children who are received here are soon shifted to the other homes.

The monthly Mela is a program for  children on the streets who do not stay in the Snehalaya homes. Every month about 30 kids are invited  to participate in a day-long program consisting of bath and hair-cut, games, CD shows,  competitions and sumptuous food. The program is managed practically by the senior kids of the Shelter Home.
