~: I’m Nobody's Child :~

On 28th of June a small girl aged 5 to 7 years was brought to the Children’s Home Dhirenpara  by the Police. She was found abandoned  in the Jhalukbari area , the previous day. She was picked up by an NGO and kept for the night. In the morning they contacted the Jhalukbari Police Station to inform them about the child. From appearance it seems  that this child has been abandoned by well-to-do desperate  parents/guardians. A bag full of her clothes were also found lying next to her. She has new sandals on her feet, a gold ear-ring, and a silver chain around her neck. The Police brought the child to Snehalaya for shelter and care. The child was accepted by  Snehalaya. She has been named Sangeeta. She can neither sit nor stand, neither talk nor hear. Sangeeta has been examined by Paediatricians. A CT scan of her head has been done. The doctors are of the opinion that only physiotherapy can help this child. Snehalaya believes in the value of life and is ready to protect life at any cost. Snehalaya believes in family responsibility and is shocked  Sangeeta’s  unidentified parents had the heart to abandon her. Sangeeta  is at present at Ila Snehalaya where one-to-one care is being given to her night and day. Tiffany, a volunteer from USA who is a massage therapist  is also attending to  her. Physiotherapy has also been started.  By the grace of Almighty she is responding well. All at Snehalaya love Sangeeta and are waiting for the day when she will walk.

On the same day that Sangeeta arrived at Snehalaya, a small boy named Amul, alias Adbul aged 7/8 yrs with a broken arm was brought to Snehalaya by the police. Snehalaya accepted this child too for care and protection. Reportedly the boy was found by the police on the railway track near Baihata Railway Station in an injured state. Probably he had fallen down form the moving train. He was given Medical Treatment in Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Bhangagarh, and Guwahati by the police. He speaks a language that is un-understandable. He understands Assamese and Hindi to some extent.
